Camping Visit

What can you say when a visit to a camp site has it all? Todd and Jessie had the maiden voyage of their new pop-up camper (but they weren't there when we arrived). Rodney and Erin were gracious hosts as always. Gabby got to play, kids were fishing, hula hooping, campfires, some spring color, a bike goes for a splash, cute dogs, and Kriss even got to go for a boat ride on Lil' Johnny. We even had a visit from the young version of the Michigan Militia.

Yup, it was a fun evening.

72-Year Old Snowblower

The person, not the equipment. This is my Dad blowing snow in Painesdale, one of the snow capitols of Michigan.

I hope I'm up to the task when I'm his age.

I suppose I could have offered to help, but it was more fun taking pictures.

Blueberry Picking

After church on Sunday, the Bosley crew went blueberry picking at the Gierke farm just south of Chassell. The berries are unbelievable this year. Notice the orange ribbon on the bucket and at the weighing stand. Those were to be used to tie next to any wasp nests in the field.

The little girl picking next to us with her grandfather was apparently convinced that every little bug and fly was a wasp because she was finding lots of them. Gabby stayed true to her middle-namesake of Afina (Romanian for blueberry) as she picked plenty herself.

The gallery is here.

Happy Birthday Kriss

My wonderful wife celebrated her birthday this week. We had a nice dinner and made s'mores afterwards. Here are some pictures from our evening. As usual Ela steals the show.

Doing the math, Kriss and I have known each other for 27 years now. Wow, time flies.

Happy Birthday to the love of my life!!!

Brad's Birthday

This past weekend, I hung out at yet another kid's birthday party. This one was an outdoor pool party for my nephew Brad. Nothing more fun to shoot than a bunch of kids around water.

Gabrielle Afina's Flowers

When Gabby was first brought home from the hospital in 2002, I thought it would be interesting to take some pictures of her nestled in the flowers that grow in our yard each spring. Somehow I've managed to keep the tradition going every year and this year was no exception. Gabby posed for the 2008 "flower shoot" just after her sixth birthday. Yes, she does pose now.

From 2002-2008, I've gone through two Fujifilm Point and Shoot cameras and this year for the first time, I was finally able to take the shots with a new Digital SLR.

This gallery covers the time from just after her birth in 2002 through her birthday in 2008. She's our Angel Gabrielle and we are so fortunate and blessed that she has remained a healthy, vibrant, (and yes talkative) little girl.

Gabby's Golden Birthday

Pictures from Gabby's Golden Birthday Party. Aunt Sharon and Uncle Bill were kind enough to let us use their house and pool so she got to have her friends over for a pool party.

Cute kids make the best subjects especially in the swimming pool.

The indoor shots were taken with the Nikon D300 pushed to ISO 3200.
